FAQ
Are you currently accepting new patients?
Yes, I am currently accepting new patients
How do I book my first session?
You can call or email anytime. However, the best way to get started is to click the Get in touch me with me button to complete and send the form.
Do I need a physician or specialist referral?
No, a physician or specialist referral is not required.
What about fees?
- I accept Employee, WSIB, and MVA insurance.
- You must submit your paid receipt to your insurer for reimbursement.
- I accept e-transfers or cheques. Fees are due at the end of each session.
- Students, Seniors, Disability/Low Income: ask for a low fee option.
- Services are not funded by Provincial Health or social assistance/disability plans.
- It is your responsibility to verify coverage for the service provided. Fees must be paid regardless of insurance coverage.
Are services confidential?
You can trust your therapist to keep confidential the information that is disclosed in session. Your personal health information will not be disclosed to others without your consent, unless required by law (e.g., child protection, health professional sexual abuse, court order) or ethical/professional standards (e.g., risk of serious bodily harm to self and others).
If you are asking an insurance company to pay for psychotherapy or other benefits – your insurance company may ask for a copy of your health records or ask for verification of services provided. Records are only released with your consent.
Can I see the therapist in person?
Until further notice, sessions will be only virtual (Zoom calls or phone calls).
Are video calls less effective than in-person sessions?
Clients prefer to be matched with the best therapist, with training and experience related to their concern, even if they do not live near each other.
Video therapy reduces time spent entering and exiting, cuts through the small talk, and gets to work more quickly on the presenting problem.
Due to better technology, no travelling to sessions, and its effectiveness, video therapy is the preferred approach to address even deeply complex personal issues.
